Does anyone make a device that will convert a coax signal (from cable television) to an S-video output?

You need a tuner, there is no other method since all the signals must first be seperated prior to converting them to S-Video one by one.

This is what your cable box does, the tuner in a DVD recorder, a VCR and a TV.

Thanks for your response. However, I do own an av selector by JVC that converts composite signals to S-video (separates luminance & chrominance). I thought maybe it was also possible from a coax signal. But I guess not without a tuner of some sort.

I have a Toshiba t.v. that will not allow me to view channel 3 (a local station) and I can't seem to program the channels so that it will come in. Is there some reason that channel 3 in particular would not be active?
