Please help me with simple question about Dolby VS Stereo Surround

I have a Panasonic SC-HT900 HTS and I have the option of using Dolby Digital II or Super Stereo Surround. I'm confused on the difference between the 2. During DVD playback one is disabled. I experimented with both but they seem the same. Anyone know what is the difference and what situations are better to use one over the other?
'super stereo surround' sounds like a brand mode specific to the Panasonic. You might want to refer to your owners manual and read the descriptions and see if you can make sense of it.

the manual does not explain what it does at all but just how to turn it on
Sorry that I couldnt help. It sounds like an expanded surround effect designed to make it sound like a bigger soundstage. I guess you'll have to let your ears be the judge and pick the one you think sounds the best
