I know that I can't directly connect my DVD recorder to the digital cable box because of the copy protection but something strange is happening.
I have my recorder set up coming off of a splitter with the other line going directly into the cable box. I can record any channel with no problem IF I'm on that channel and actually watching it. The weird part is that when I try to set up a record timer (and setting the record feature off of the cable box) I get nothing!
Any ideas? I'm thinking about going back to my original A/B setup by swapping off my DVD recorder for the VCR. Is this the way to go?
