I just installed my Sony 55"XS with DirectTV HDTV. I went with the DVI to HDMI (Monster). Next I will be upgrading to HDMI DVD and running the digital out via optical to my Arcam HT receiver. Question: Can you tell the difference between a $50 cable, a $125.00 cable, and the one that might come in the box (Samsung 841). Same question for the optical.

Robert, I have to say I have upgraded my cable to the top end of the Monster line (via their website) and I see a noticable difference. To me, the extra money is worth it. Did the same for the digital audio interconnects and made a noticable improvement in sound cleaness and clarity.
