PIONEER ELITE DV-45A DVD PLAYER

has anyone tried this player out as yet?i would like to know of the build quality, picture and sound quality of this unit, cause it is the cheapest unit i've seen in it's class, how does it handle different media types.and could anyone explain how bass management works on this dvd player?i thought that that was a feature for receivers only.
thankx

purchased this unit several weeks ago after considerable research...though this was best quality, best price, and plays both sacd and dvda. so far as I can tell, the ability to select speaker size (small or large) is bass management. you probably have the same option with your receiver, however because you are outputting 6 channel analog - rather than digital ..your speaker size, and other digital sound processing features aren't available to your player....unit works very well, we are especially impressed with the picture quality on our conventional television. we had a fairly high end toshiba which was about 3 years old and this pioneer is considerably better. high quality sound is equal to what you'd expect, although find that for everything other than sacd or dvda (i.e. dvd's and cd's).....i'm better off using the digital output to my marantz av receiver (sr3800) as the digital to analog conversion in receiver has better sound quality than the pioneer analog out

sorry, receiver is SR 8200

NB, the DV-45a bass management (speaker size selection) only works for the analog 6 channel outputs (this is mentioned in the manual), and only acts on Dolby Digital sources; it doesn't work on DVD-A sources (this is NOT mentioned in the manual).

(I dont' know yet whether bass management works on SACD sources with the DV-45a yet.)

How does one adjust bass management on this unit?
