I just hooked up a new DVD/VCR combo player to my roughly 16-year-old TV. The folks at the store told me I would not need an adaptor if I purchased a combo player instead of a straight DVD player. Anyway, the DVD picture flutters (light seems to wave and squiggle through picture and blur edges) a lot, and my broadcast reception, which I ran through the player to my antennae, is awful now (no cable). Is this an old TV problem that can't be fixed, or do I still need an adaptor?
