This may be a stupid question, but does the DVD player have to support (or even know about) the different formats (Dolby Digital EX,DTS-ES, NEO:6)? or is this just sent to the reciver to decode? So in other words, could I update my reciver to something that supports a 6.1 format and get it without upgrading my DVD player?
