Hello all,

This is my first post. I'm looking to buy my first HDTV set. So far, I have been researching DLP technology... looking ito the various DLP chips and TVs that use them. I've looked at the Samsung HLP5085W and HLP5063W, the Mitz 52725, and the Toshiba 52HM84. They all look great on HDTV signals but what about SDTV?

It's definitely NOT set it stone that I want a DLP TV. I think the technology is not quite as mature as I'd like. I'd like to know what other recommendations you have on HDTV sets that looks the best on SD signals.

Also, I'd prefer a TV set that does not require it's own stand. I'd like to put it in a cabinet. I prefer a screen size of approximately 50 inches or so.

Thanks a lot.

Cgris, have you considered the Panasonic DLP. I have the PT50DL54 and it is as good on SD as my Elite CRT.
