I am thinking about buying my kids a new tv. I am thinking of purchasing a TV/DVd/VCR combo. I've heard that if one of the components doesn't work (i.e., the DVD player) then the other component won't work (i.e., the VCR). Is this true? What are the disadvantages of this type of TV combo? Should I just buy two separte components?
