HDTV question

I have a 47 inch Samsung HDTV. I have access to a few HDTV channels through my Motorola digital cable box. I get the sound but no picture. My question is this...Do I need to add other jacks besides the coax that is already running from my box to my tv? Or is it that I need a different box?

Yes you must run from your STB to either your display or your home theater system one of the below:

1) RCA audio cables (worst)
2) Optical cable
3) Coax Cable

2 and 3 above will offer the best digital reproduction of the sound.

Your DVD player must be able to upconvert, most cannot. What brand/model are you using? Also except for one made in the past all upconverting units upconvert only to the DVI/HDMI output. This is for copy protection.
