I went to Comp USA to get a Panasonic PT53X54 rear projection HD ready TV advertised for $999. When I got there they said there was a supply problem and they only had the floor model of P'sonic (which they would not discount), but were offering an Akai PT5598HD instead for the same price. The problem was they didn't have any of the Akai units to view. I had thuroughly researched the Panasonic, but know nothing of the Akai. Anyone have an opinion, New Akai 55" or floor model Panasonic 53" for $999.

I don't know much about the Akai, but I just purchased the PT53x54 at a much higher price than $999. Even if it was the floor model, I would have scooped it up at that price.....Good Deal!
