I've had my plasma just over a year and it started shutting off on it's own. The cure was to unplug it and plug it back in and it would work.Panasonic said the problem could occur if attached to a surge protector. So on their advice I plugged it directly into the wall. Te problem went away for a few months but has now returned with a vengence. It now will no longer start up. It hums as though it will and somtimes even shows a picture (all be it bad) for a few seconds...any help?

I bought a 50' Panasonic Plasma 3 weeks ago. It suddnely developed a BOLD BLACK line ( 12 in.x 3in) in the screen. Anyone with this kind of problem? I am working through the dealer repair and Panasonic to fix the problem but I wonder should I insist on a new one rather than "fix" this one???

I just bought a TH-50PHD7UY a couple of months ago and just started having similar problems.
The TV would turn off by itself. The LED light to indicate "power on" also flashes 7 times and then it goes to a solid red light for a few seconds, and repeats this sequence.

What did you do to fix your problem??

Check out this link... http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=105132&page=5&xx=15&highlight=fl ashing

(The board wouldn't let me post the link above because it has two p's in it together.. go figure. To make the link work, substitute the two x's after the 5x with p's.)
