We have a RCA TV and Directv satellite TV. We want to set-up a DVD player. When we plugged everything in it did not work. We tried running the wires through the satellite receiver and then through the TV with the receiver turned off. We tried the TV on channel 2, 3, and 4. Nothing worked no matter what we did. Any advice?

Try turning the "progressive scan" switch on the DVD to OFF..also try roof dish cables to DTV receiver to DVD,and then the TV last....worked for me
i have a zennith XBR 411 dvd recorder/vhs, and dish network, i can't figure out how to hook everything up correctly so i can record something from the dish onto a dvd, everything is plugged in, but to watch a movie from the dvd/vhs recorder, we have to turn the satellite off, can someone please help??!!
