I'm in the market for my first DVD player. I have a 36 inch non-HD TV. Will upgrade to HD TV when price drops more and am hoping the player I buy will be compatible. Am interested in the player for movies only so a single changer will be best for me. I'm trying to understand whether there is a significant difference in the audio and visual qualities of the players costing between $150 and $500. Any thoughts and recommendations would be appreciated.
Dave. Am not sure if there are many differences in picture quality between the lower and higher priced DVD players. I would, however, tell you to look at the Pioneer DV563A. You can get it at best buy and it has gotten great reviews from different sound and home theater magazines. It plays regular dvds as well as super audio and dvd audio cd's. It runs about $179 and is very worth it.
