I just accquired this set. I need a light wt slim TV and this fit the bill. I am very pleased.so far I have only hooked it up to my sat reciver. I did noted that if you view it at an angke of 150 or greater the colors fade. We love it's great viewing at 10 to 25 feet.

i got it and so far it has been a headache....trying to hook up a dvd has been a nightmare ....and when samsung tier 2 phone support hooked it up via DVI...i said..how the hell would i have ever figured that out?...NOT IN THE MANUAL.... now i learn YOU CANNOT use DVI/HDMI combo cable as TV does not support audio using combo cable....must put HDMI in HDMI and DVI in DVI..so the HD841 has to go back since the cable box will use the DVI slot....

Part II....after dumping the Samsung DVD hd831....I just went out and bought the Toshiba HDMI Up conversion DVD player and it hooked up perfectly right out of the box into the HDMI slot....Stay tuned, the cable guy comes tomorrow to hook up the Scientific Atlanta DVI HD cable stb....

well the "Cable Guy" visit was a stressful disaster...Walking in with the Scientific Atlanta HD3250 (DVI) box.... the guy responds to my suggestion to "make sure the DVI port on the box is activated"..that he's hooking the HD box up with rca cables....suffice it to say...after screaming out..You're xxxxxxxx going to do WHAT?....i yelled RCA? call your manager..this is not 1950.... Scary thought..the mgr says no can do DVI....gotta be component......then calls back in 5 mins and says...DVI active tell installer to run the DVI cable
To continue the nightmare...after a DVI connection GLITCH...a call to Samsung support got a ...Oh, that SA STB model won't work with this TV without some upgrade....so I ended up forced to connect with component... NOT FRIGGIN HAPPY.......
PS....i got the drill that >2.xx anamorphic dvd's generate horizontal bars......should i also get bars on all the HD cable stations in the wide mode? should i have to stretch here too to eliminate the bars?

After sending out scathing emails to Cox cable and WUZZUP with this DVI disconnect email to Scientific Atlanta....SA forwarded my email back to Cox cable (VA). One of their network engineers did do his damndest...and told me to unplug stb and tv.....then replug and try the DVI connection...and yes it worked....Damn shame the cable installer was clueless and had only been taught the Component connection....What a waste of time and stress....
Bottom line so far...the HD channels via DVI blow me away......WOW!
