Does anyone have anything to say about using this receiver and this speaker set? I'm just upgrading some older equipment and not looking to spend a whole lot ($500-600 ish). I can't remember if its dangerous to use a reciever that's rated @ 100W / channel with speakers rated at 100W peak power? There was nothing mentioned in the specs about RMS power, and from what I remember, this is the number you look at more closely:
1)Pioneer VSX-D810S (6.1 surround) -- approx. $230
100W to ea channel(@ 8 ohms i'm assuming)
THX EX, DTS ES

2)JBL-SCS136SI (5 satellite, 1 sub, 1 center)~$200
Freq rng: 35-20KHz
peak pwr: 100W (@8 ohm)
86 dB

Anyone have suggestions (or warnings?). Looking to get these in the near future. Thanks.

You should be fine with this combination. That particular Pioneer will not have the continuous power output that it claims, so your speakers should be able to handle it.
