I am assuming this is a VSX-520 receiver. It has 3 HDMI IN ports and 1 HDMI OUT port that goes to the TVs HDMI in port ( there is no HDMI out port on a TV). Cable box to the TV/sat HDMI port and DVD to the DVD HDMI port. HDMI out to the TV. The BD HDMI port is for Blu-ray but t can be renamed and used for other devices. Turn on the receiver and cable box, turn on the TV and select the HDMI input you connected to ( use HDMI 1 so it is easy to remember) and enjoy. You will also need to do a set up for the receiver which starts on page 37 of your manual.
