While surfing the net for more info, i found this delay lag problem which seems not resolvable. http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1471733 I need advice as to whether to cancel the order since this problem looks kinda serious. But just want them to produce good effect for watching movies and good for audio listening if possible. I saw the cambridge audio azur 650 is pretty good, is it? |

Now we can talk David! yes go for it speakers will matter though, budget, etc. How to you want them to look? bookshelves on stands , on the wall, front 2 on floor? inwalls and rear inceiling alot to think about ft4 rated inwall speaker wire flex 16 or 14/2 I only use audioquest my fav Too many speakers to choose I like quite a few depending on budget and esthetics. vince theaudioguy.ca |

The cambridge looks very nice, but you said your budget was $1000-1500 and the Cambridge will eat that up alone. Speakers are more important than the receiver you need to give us a real budget for the speakers and receiver combined. $1000- 1500 for speakers and $500-850 for a receiver and you could get a very nice set up. New member Username: David39Post Number: 4 Registered: Oct-10 | Hi Casey and Vince, It was too late to cancel the order and my wife kinda insisted to go ahead with the purchase since she likes the slim looks of the speakers...etc and the Sony came home 2 days ago. Well, as it turned out spot-on that the Home Theatre In a Box is no way near to a Pro setup. I find it lacks of the 'X-factor', but i cant seem to figure it out. Of course the small speakers arent doin a good job since they are small with that amount of money it cost, and listening to audio is not to my taste. But use it to watch a movie is bearable i would say. I think as they say, 'you pay peanuts, you get monkeys' that sort of things. Since i cant possibly to get my wife to change to another set, i am toying with the idea if i can get 'something' to add to the system to improve it. Such as adding another Amp or something? Thanks for dropping by and hope there's a solution to it w/o letting my wife knows about it. |

Companies that make these types of systems and compact stereo systems are not going to include their best parts. If you bought a Sony HT receiver speakers blu-ray player, etc seperately, while it would not sound as good as Denon, or HK, it would sound better than the package deal. Sony source equipment (blu-ray & cd players) has surprisingly good sound and picture quality for its price. I bought a Sony TV and Sony Hi Fi VCR in August, 01. They still work perectly after 9 yrs of heavy use at the hands of my wife & kids. My last cd player was a Sony. 7 yrs of heavy use! My current cd player is a Sony. 7 yrs, no problems. Just to name a few. The TV is in the bedroom since we upgraded to HD, yes, Sony. 2 yrs, no problems. So, the best thing to do is stretch your budget and upgrade your HT system to seperate components. Sound, picture and longevity will improve greatly. |
