Listening to Cable music channels through Stereo Speakers

I would like to be able to listen to the cable music channels through my stereo system with the television turned off. I must have something not connected correctly. Any suggestions... Thanks.

Use 2 ''Y'' cable splitter then hook it in another input of your receiver! It will worked only if you have a Cable box to select your channels, if not forget it because your TV tuner doesnt work with the power off.

He can hook it directly in the receiver vince Digital or coaxial can do on new stereo system only! Good choice with better sound but cable box does not sound great usualy!

I personnaly use the optic input with my Yamaha 7.1 to get AC3 sound then HDMI for other source! I I said that because he can have the sound on the TV without using the strereo system!
