I moved into a new house that is wired for speakers in multiple rooms. All rooms where wired for amplified volume controls(Russound ALTx). Only one of these was left by previous owner. Where are these controllers supposed to be getting power from? I have seen the Russound CAV units and the multizone receivers and I am not sure what I need. What is the easiest/cheapest way to get this system working now and still be able to upgrade easily later?
Hi there.. not sure what your gonna connect volume controls to but they are self powered I think.. its all low voltage with speaker wire 16/4 and cat 5or 6
what are you connecting it to ?
they are probably meant to be used with russound only recievers but you can still use the wires....to get speakers and maybe other volume controls to work....with the speakers you have now.
Unless your a semi-pro I would hire someone.
