My old cheap stereo equipment just died -- and I'm so far behind the times, I don't yet have a dvd player. I am searching for a HTIB under $1,500. Excellent sound is the most important feature to me. Versatility for multi-media means a lot too.
I've read what you guys have to say about the Onkyo 770 and am considering it, even though it doesn't include a dvd player. It's just so bulky looking. The Yamaha YHT-F1500 is also brand new, but it's sleeker looking, and includes a dvd plyer. It appears to do everything I want. Trouble is, there are no reviews on it. Does anyone know anything about it and/or how it compares to the Onkyo 770 or other HTIB systems? Also, can anyone elaborate on how important magnetic shielding is? I don't see that either of these systems have it.
