Hey everyone, I have some questions and am in search of answers. I'll start off by saying what I have.

Sony's HTCT100 Surround Sound Bar
Sony PS3
LG 42LG50
Cablevision's Scientific Atlanta 4250HD Cable Box

So my question is should I try to hook everything up using HDMI cables running to the surround sound and have one returning to the tv and skip the optical that is included? Does it matter if I use the optical to connect to surround sound and just go HDMI to the TV? Is it better to run optical to box or to tv?

There are so many options and variations that it just has my head spinning. I just want to know what would be the optimal connections.

Thanks a lot guys,
Alex

Good morning Alex,

The sound bar is built to accept up to three HDMI inputs with one out so try using an HDMI from both your PS3 and your cable box to the sound bar and then HDMI out from the sound bar to the TV. the optical cable would be used only if your components didn't have HDMI.

Try it and see how it works then sit back and enjoy!

Thanks Jim,

I thought that might be the best way to go about it. Appreciate the help.
