I have a side firing samsung 10. The port is in the front. The system says 100 watts per channel so the sub gets 100 theoretically. What position would be best in a home were the room is 23 by 13 feet? Should the speaker face the wall, open air? Does the port need to face a certain way?

place the sub in the same location that you are supposed to sit and with playing music (LF), you need to walk across the room and check with place or rather corner sounds the loudest. this would be the ideal location to place the subwoofer...also place the port away from the wall..pointing towards you since it is a bandpass design...if the port is placed towards the wall the sound would be too boomy (this idea is good only if there is heavy carpeting on the floor and drapes on the wall)...hope this would help
