We have had our HK AVR 340 for a bit over a year now. The other day while in the middle of a DVD the sound went completely dead. At first we thought it was the dvd player, but after trying the radio and ipod bridge through it we still could still receive no sound at all. We also already tried to reset the processor to the factory setting as suggested on the HK website. No luck. Has this happened to anyone else and how was it fixed? We are worried it will cost more to fix the problem then it would be to buy a new one, but with it being only 1 yr old we are a bit annoyed. Thanks

From your desciption it sounds like the unit still turns on. It maybe possible that the remote was touched during play back and that is what diabled the sound. If EXT. IN is pushed that could kill the sound the same way TAPE2 would kill the sound.
