I am upgrading my 2 channel system to an HT system and am seeking advice as how to integrate the existing components.

I presently have an Audio Research SS Amp and tube Pre-Amp. I would like to keep the ability to use them in 2 channel with my existing sub.

I presently have an SACD player, DVD player and use cable (too many trees for either Dish or Direct TV).

My speakers are Maggies, 3.6R. I will be getting MGMC1 speakers for the rear and a CC3 for the center channel.

My question is what is a good processor and what will I need for additonal amp capacity for a 5.1 system. I am also thinking of getting an Outlaw ICBM bass management system.

Any suggestions would be most welcome as the world of surround sound is new to me technically and I would like simplicity of switching back and forth with 2 channel for listening.

Replace your Pre-amp with an Outlaw Pre-pro and add a multi channel amp. Select the stero setting when you want to use only the L & R speakers.
