Hi,

I recently started using my old Kenwood nv 701 properly for surround sound. Not exactly surround actually, I'm using two large front speakers, a center speaker and a subwoofer.

The rest of the setup is this:

Kiss dp 1500 dvd player connected via a optical cable to video 2 on my kenwood receiver. On video 1 i've got an analog signal from my television. The kenwood is connected to the four speakers mentioned above.

The problem is I'm getting digital sound out of all boxes except my center speaker. But I do get sound out of it when I send the test tone in the speaker distance menu... I think the solution lies in the configuration on my kenwood, the symbol for center speaker won't light up. Even if I select the speaker in the speaker selection menu.

Does anybody recognize this? Have you been able to solve this?

Thanks for thinking this over!

Laters,

Mats

Check the audio output signal of your DVD player via set-up menu. Ensure that it is Digital PCM.
