I bought the three head (red, white, yellow) cable to hook up my new dvd system to the tv using the component connections between the TV and the DVD player because I've heard its better quality, but for some reason it gives me a split picture or 2 pictures. Do I need special cables to connect them? Or did I do something else wrong?

The red white and yellow cable is not for component video use.

You need to get component video cables if you want to use component video. They are different from the cable you are trying to use.

Yeah, I bought the Red/Green/Blue ones and still had the problem but figured out it was because I had the Progressive scan option selected on the DVD player when the Tv is not equipped for that. THanks for your input.
