I was wondering if it is possible to connect my car sub/amp to my home receiver at home. I have a 10" mtx thunder 4500 sub, along with a mtx thunder 202 amp both for about 250watts each...i have a 10 amp ac to dc converter that puts out about 250 watts, is it possible to route that to my receiver??

also: if my sub is designed for 4 ohms, and receiver is meant for 8 ohms, can that still work?

Yes it is possible to connect the sub amp to the receiver, but you will need more than 10 amps. But I really don't recommend going that route. You are delving into Home Audio and they do not mix well with Car Audio. Plus it just never looks right. Sell the Car Audio gear to some kid who is still into his car and use the money towards proper equipment

If your receiver is not designed to handle a 4 Ohm load you will have problems with your receiver. So don't even try that.
