Want to put together a system that is good for music as it is movies. Currently own some very old parts, Kenwood, KR-V9020 and 2 sets of Bose AM-5's (first generation). Looking for Receiver and speaker suggestions. Room size (small) 15x15.

Friend suggested:
Receiver: Marantz SR4600 (~$400)
Speakers: KRK RP-8 Rokit Powered 8 Reference Studio Monitor ***** With five of those (left, center, right, left-rear, right-rear) a subwoofer would be completely unnecessary, and un-missed. The accuracy, snap, bass response, and volume would be top shelf on any scale. I've seen systems similar to that set up in recording studios. It would need to be hooked up like a recording studio (so you would run power and RCA cables to each speaker instead of speaker wire) but that's not a big deal. ******

Hookup for those speakers seem a bit difficult because of the RCA cables.

What about:
Pioneer VSX-72TXV or VSX-74XVi
???? for speakers

I was in Gramophone the other day and was listening to ERA speakers (www.signalpathint.com), incredible sound but never head of them before and a bit pricy for a 5.1 system.

Any and all suggestions would be nice...
