^Hi ! Just bought a used Bose Acoustimass 6 Series II system. The bass is actually no subwoofer, right ? Cause once I plug it into different receivers (5.1,7.1,..) THere is just no bass. I just do not know on how to formulate the question. Friends told me, since this is not an active subwoover some receivers cannot comunicate with this "old" system. somebody got an idea ? I would greatly appreciate it . THANKS
Since this is a passive system, you need to connect all the speaker wires from the receiver to the "bass" module (front, center,rear). Do not connect it to the subwoofer output of your receiver. From the module you then connect all your other satellite speakers. Set your receiver speaker setting to "Large" and turn off the Subwoofer output.
Best advice would be to resell the Bose system to someone else who loves Bose. Use the money to buy a different set of speakers.
