What DVD surround sound system do you have? Is it an all in one Home Theater System?

Is the DVD player separate from the receiver? Do you have a separate receiver?

Do you have a manual for this system?

No, it would not work that way. You have to use the audio output of your TV and connect it to the back of your HT system.

The orange coaxial should be an input (check). This is used to plug in a device that has a digital output, like another DVD player or a gaming system that is capable of sending out digital signals.
