Hi, Ive just got a general question. I was wondering if connecting one digital Coax will give you the same as connecting up all the channels with rca? (Does it provide full surround on the one cable?)
The digital coax carries 5.1 surround sound. The key difference is in which surround processor you want to use. If you connect via digital coax, you'll be using the surround processor in the receiver. If you connect via 6-channel analog, you'll be using the surround processor in the source. If the source is playing SACD, then you need to use the 6-channel analog. HTH!
