I just bought my first (1080i)HD TV with HDMI/DVI inputs. I also got a DVD player with HDMI/DVI outputs. However, my A/V receiver does not have HDMI/DVI/component switching. My proposal around this is to connect the DVD player video output (DVI or component) directly to the TV and connect the DVD audio output (digital) to the A/V receiver. Is there a problem with this hook-up?
There won't be any quality loss issue. It's just that you will have to switch your tv input and play with your receiver before you can watch. That's all
