How do you hook the audio plug and the video plug to an older TV without the incoming A/V connections? Is there some kind of splitter I can get or????????????? Thanks

Yes...it's called an RF modulator. You can get it at a number of places like Walmart, Target, Circuit City, Best Buy, etc.

Does one end of an RF Modulator go into the place the cable TV would normally go? Thanks

Yes. The cable TV coax go into the RF modulator coax in. The RF modulator coax out goes into your TV. There are 3 or 4 RCA A/V connections (INPUT) so you can hook up your VCR, DVD, cable box, etc. The RF modulator unit does the switching (let you select the signal source). Walmart sells a Philips RF modulator that will fit your bill perfectly. It's not cheap - about $40.
