I have the Kenwood vr6070 with Bose 5.1 and they sound terrible. I am looking to go buy new speakers form Circuit City or Best Buy. I am in need of an opinion on what type of speakers. I am movie watcher 90% of the time. I want ear piercing loud. I am currently leaning towards Athena Floor Standing. Any suggestions?
I have played around with Athena ASF-2 and ASC-1 mated with a KRF9070D ( i believe that is the equivalent of the 6070), with and without the Outlaw Audio 7100 and it sounds awesome in both modes. Very efficient speakers, I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Just don't get Athena Subs, they are quite weak. However, if you want ear piercing loud and high SPLs, you may want to use a separate power amp. cheers
