Max. safe volume for onkyo ht-s570 / onkyo receivers

Hi all, I just bought a refurb ht-s570 from onkyo and it sounds great so far. I am wondering what is the max volume, under normal conditions, that I can play this at without risking damaging the speakers with distortion. On my old Yamaha receiver (where there is actually the volume scale around the knob) I was advised to not turn it much past the "12:00" position. But the Onkyo receiver just goes from 0-80. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Impossible to definitively answer without knowing your speaker specs.

The speakers that come with this kit are all have a max input power of 100w, with output levels between 76-79 dB/W/m. The receiver pushes 100w/channel. Are these the specs you mean? Thanks, Andrew

Yes, exactly. You should be just fine. The moment you detect the least bit of distortion, back down the volume and keep it below that point.
