Component Video Cables - What to Buy?

I expect everybody has varying thoughts on this but since I have seen so many options with such varying prices I find myself perplexed.

I want to get good quality Component Video cables and don't mind spending a little extra for the quality but don't want to spend money un-necessarily. I want to get what I'm paying for.

My local dealer tried to turn me on to Transparent brand but a 1M cable was $370. I don't know if they're worth it but regardless, the misses wouldn't go for that since I also need a 3M one.

Anybody have any tips on what to look for and/or brands to recommend for good quality w/o exorbent price? Any real life side by side comparisons or experiences?

Again, I need a 1M and a 3M cable and I can swing a couple hundered bucks if I need to. Obviously if I could get the same results at 1/2 the price that would be great which is what brought me to pose this question.

Thanks.

Take a look at Acoustic Research or Dayton cables through Parts Express. Reasonably priced and have performed well for me.

JDG:

Absolutely--look at the AR and Dayton Audio cables available at Parts Express (www.partsexpress.com). I think their quality is as good as anyone else's and a whole lot cheaper. Think in terms of $50, at most, not $200.

Here is the 3 ft. (1 meter) cable for ~$20:

And here is the 12 ft (3 meter) for $30:
