Looking for a home theatre system to buy to connect to my plasma tv. Mostly to use to amplify tv usage. I currently have a HD cable box (comcast's made by motorola). Currently have one hdmi cable going from the cable box directly to the tv. Very simple. There are so many Home theatre options out there and not one Best Buy employee could give me a definitive answer. Which one do I buy? The all in one that comes with a dvd player with on hdmi input? In which case do i have to buy a hdmi splitter? also does the dvd player that comes with it act as a reciever or do i need to buy a seperate reciever so that my TV will amplify/ through the home theatre system?
There are also those HTS that does not come with a dvd but these have 3 hdmi cables.
In either case my goal is to basically get a HTS to amplify my TV and I alrady have a blue ray player.
Somebody help me!!!! Which one do I buy and how do i connect? Do I need a seperate reciever if i buy the ones that comes with a dvd player/1 hdmi? Should i just buy the HTS that doesnt come with the dvd player and has 3 hdmi inputs?

Johnlee a few model numbers would help. You own a Blu-ray player so you don't need a DVD player. The sound that is available on Blu-ray is a step up from TV sound. You want a system that is DTS MA and Dolby TrueHD capable. The more HDMI inputs the better for the future. Denon is sold in Best Buy look for this system.

This is the receiver.

Denon is having a sale with Boston Acoustic speakers.
