Can someone tell me if I can replace the Bose Lifestyle Receiver with another receiver and still use the cube speakers. Is there a cord made that will let me connect a regular receiver to the Bose bass module and still get surround sound? Many thanks for answers to my problem.

yes u can hook up the cubes to any reciever they will actually sound better. But be carfull youll blow them alot easier cause ther is like a governer for a car that the subwoofer has to control the cubes. And with the sub issue scrap the sub and buy a real 1.
Check the impedance of the bose cubes... On its own, it is probably around 6ohms. Make sure that your receiver can handle speakers that are rated below 8 ohms. If not you will blow your receiver before you blow the speakers.
The best thing to do is sell the lifestyle to someone else who likes bose and buy a totally different system altogether.
