DMR-85HS/95HS Digital Cable box & TV guide workaround?

Tomorrow, 95E will be shipped to my house!!! I can:t wait! After reading through the manual and called TV guide and Panasonic, I found most likely my Motorolla Digital TV box won't send TV guide info to DMR-95E... : ( However, I was wondering. if this can be done... 1. split cable BEFORE goes to the Digital cable box 2. connect analogue (one cable of 2) to E95's RF in 3. connect other cable to Digital cable box 3. connect composit (white, red, and yellow) from digital box to Line in 3 of 95E 4. In the initial setup, set Cable: yes, Cable box: Yes, Cable line in: L3 and setup the IR blaster, 5. RF out or component out to TV...
With this setup, does anyone know 1. 95E or 85E will get TV guide from analogue RF, 2. Then it will control Digital cable box channel using IR blaster, 3. Use signal from L3 when programed through TV guide?

Oooh...good question. Does anyone know if this set-up could work? I am having a hard time getting my Scientific Atlanta box to download the info.

What you can do to get some TV Guide information is hook up an indoor antenna. Your local PBS station will transmit quite a bit of guide data. You may need to go into the guide program after the download to edit some of the channel info so that it matches up with the correct channel numbers from your CATV system.
