Here is the instruction for put PID on your receiver.

The channels added are called Userchan-0,1,2,3,. CapyiveWorks: CW600P Menu Installation Manual search Advanced Choose the good satellite then good Tp then put the 3 PID number and arrow down on last Pid and you put nothing and press OK then Exit. The channel for me is call TVCH 125 which you can rename. Sonicview: Menu installation, channel Search, press Add PID(color button on remote) then put all PID number and OK Then Exit. Instead i go to MENU DISH SETTINGS AND THERE IS NO OPTION FOR ADD PID???? THE COLOR BUTTON ON REMOTE ONLY ALLOW U TO satellite scan tp scan blind scan and scan all..then when i got to channel setup it only allows me to delete rename channel or favortite thats it...pretty confusing i tried searching for the past hour...no luck any help? |

Gold Member Username: DimwittPost Number: 1182 Registered: Aug-06 | This is what I did with a 3500- i believe the menu is the same as the 2700 menu - installation - advance scan - select satellite press OK- using volume on remote select the down frequency- 12326 go down to vid pid and enter 5666 - audio enter 5667 - pcr enter 5666 select TP scan and it should scan one channel -CH-A Suppose you could also give the channel a name on that same menu page. |

Then put in the PID values(Audio, Video, pcr values) name the channel and scan. (If you dont name the channel, the channel will come up as CH-A.) Hope this helps! |

All special scans are first named CH-1 by the software, an a new special scan will overwrite this name, unless you change the name soon after scanning. It is usually convenienct to do a alphabetic sort, so you can find the new channels under CH-1 and then RENAME it. |

First of all there is no channel search option after Menu,Menu Installation, its only channel edit option which does not let you edit the VPID etc and the blue button there is for channel Lock for adult lock. However If one goes to first option under Menu Installation, it opens the screen for selecting satellite and lnb type, TP, diSeq port selection etc. One can click on the TP and it opens up the TP's list where all TP's are listed and buttons on remote are enabled for editing, adding or deleting TPs. The blue button is then enabled for "Add PID" to a highlighted TP. By pressing the blue button "AddPID " option a pop up apear showing values for VPID, APID and PCR and default 8192 for all is shown. However when you try to edit those PIDs it only takes 3 digit numbers although default 8192 shown was a 4 digit value. Whereas all the needed PIDs for indian channels and others are 4 digits. The channel search option you mentioned as per manual comes only if factory installed channels. So there is no channel search option. I am perplexed as how one can add a 4 digit PID in SV8000 HD when it is only allowing 3 digits to be added. |

New member Username: Aam245Post Number: 4 Registered: Jun-07 | Plymouth Thanks for the idea about the channel master...I downloaded the latest version 1.20.3 from dsstester...went to the basement and pulled the oldie RS232c (null) cable I was so accustomed to using with my oldie PANSAT2500..and connected the SV8KHD with my old computer on COM port...now I tried connecting and it wont connect..also tried connecting it when SV is saying "power on" just after hard boot...wont work..I donno what to do ?? back of the box the port is labeled RS232C and it is not working somehow... Any ideas.. p.s. note that I have the module installed and the shunt is also installed. but it shouldnt have any affect on connecting with the PC thtough this null cable..is there any different cable I should be using (the cable is null and not crossed) ?? all the help is appreciated greately.. I do not have information specific to SV8kHD but most likely it uses a Null cable, exactly opposite to the straight cable you are trying to use. In order not to be confused, I suggest you buy a M/F Null adapter. Then you can try using it with your old cable or without using the the new adapator - you will get to try both straight and null that way. Best of luck. |
