good question!!! i'm looking to get the vs9k also but before i commit 400$ can someone tell me my situation... I have a Sharp lcd w/hd capability (no astc tuner), can i just change my dish and keep 119&110 signal and get hd??? or do i have to find another signal for hd channels?

I prefer the SV 8000 HD...cause I prefer SV or VS with all models...and based upon the posts from many unhappy VS 9000 users..and the positice posts by SV 8000 users..
Some have both, and of those people, SV 8000 is preferred.
It would be wrong to invest on FTA HD receivers at this point in time. BEV has introduced Nagravision 3 encryption, and DN is also testing and will be introducing it in May. You do not know if the sky will fall. Wait about two months before looking at it again.
