Morning News DN Down for Premium Channels.
Bev Up with New fix posted Today.
Viewsat and CaptiveWorks are taking the lead with Premium Support responding quickly to latest BEV ECM. Still FTA manufacturers are at disadvantage and while coders are trying to find a fix that will be more permanent, FTA users will have to get accustomed to this bumpy ride for a good while. Some Manufacturers have already announced they will no longer support some models. Other manufactueres are just not being able to fabricate fixes between ECMs for all of their models. All FTA users are advised to take advantage of their PVR functions and have those playing during the blackouts.
Beware of the wolves announcing the apocalypsis (the end of the FTA) as nobody knows what will happen next. Those are sales tactics some people use to motivate people into making a premature decisions.
Dec 16/2007 B3V opens the Door from H3LL!
Bev opened up a door today. that allows them to run any code they want, and they can change that code once a minute, every minute! This is gonna get really interesting very quickly. We'll soon see who has the juice to stay up. Only a full blown emulation of the card stands a chance. Since we already know that B3v is the testing grounds for dish, the future is definitely uncertain for the older FTA units. The units that just patch for each various ecm will fall by the wayside, or be relegated back to their original purpose, of pure FTA.
Nagra has had their security issues for quite sometime, but its looking alot more secure than ever before, almost like some NDS help was hired to help out with the dynamics. The combination of stuff they can throw at us now is endless.
Thats the bad news. The good news is coders are about 98% done with the full emu, right down to clock frequency counters and timers within the maprom. It seems the coders are just as determined to beat the endless possibilities of dynamic hashing, and some are just as brilliant as the very best NDS or Nagra engineers.
It has been far to easy to watch encrypted signals for free for a long time now. Just about any old fta unit would do the trick. This will not be the case in the very near future. People will have to finally retire those old Fortec Lifetimes and Pansat 2500's, and probably alot more. It's all gonna boil down to who has the best coders. We'll get to see who has the smartest coders, and the best support. The game is far from over, but it is about to change dramatically.
