And even then, it's a long shot. We have been told many times that a newer improved Bin is going to be released that will last a long time. But have yet to see it. We are keeping our fingers crossed right now and waiting for the day we will not have to wait for new bins. |

The coders must have known it and hence did not give a manual input and even when they did, it was not satisfactory. Now they have an open source code to draw from. (See Emanation release) The "evaluate and execute" type of dynamic code requires interpretation on the fly and that too is not beyond the capabilities of the coders. The only unknown quantity is time - time taken to do what is required to be done. The code in the cards executes faster than in the flash rom of receivers. The time taken to come out with the new BIN suggests to me that the coders have the upper hand again for the time being. They have had to dig properly into the software instead of quick patches. This is all theoretical. |

The following is from the instructions for conversion available at: http://public.box.net/2500_full_kit *.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*. C/P E. Installation: With receiver switch in off position, connect the Sat antenna, and the cables to TV. Turn on TV Turn on receiver. You will see b75 go across and freeze on '5'. WAIT After a little while the TV will come on asking you to confirm Language English. Press OK. First do Menu/ default settings It will ask for PIN '" use 1668 if you have forgotten your PIN, usually a 0000. Next do User setup. Set time to manual and enter the correct time, date, and time zone. Make sure summer time is off. Next do Menu/Dish Setup/Antenna setup Select your known dishes and use the known DisEqC port connections. You can connect to ports without knowing which is which using trial and error and the signal strength. Now do Blind scan (power scan) for each of the selected sats. You must see Vertical TPs. F. Watching TV: By the time you finish the blind scan, the new keys will have loaded and you are ready to watch TV. You MUST switch off at the back once and switch on. You can se up the channels alphabetically or in other ways using Channel Edit and Sort. You can and should set up P-lock on some P0RNO channels. You can rename the 5 Favorites using right arrow key. If a channel does not appear, you can do a separate TP scan. Also look for it in the list, e.g. channels 614 '" SET may appear in the list as TV 614, and you can rename. HAPPY VIEWING If resets occur, try turning autoroll off and auto TP off. |

Instructions included. http://public.box.net/2500_full_kit However the latest BIN CS_226T_lightning included in the kit does not work, because of the new ECM started yesterday. You can use USB to serial adapter for loading your receiver, but you must buy an adapter with its own CD, and install the drivers manually. You should also look at the Device Manager of your computer and make sure the COM port value is between 1 to 4. |
