Shen luong,

This thread is only for Fortec STAR Lifetime Ultra receivers. Yes, you can convert your normal Pansat 2500 to a Pansat 2700 via serial port. Please visit www.dssrookie.com and you'll get all the files that you need for conversion.

im making directly references to uploading a new bin

after i loaded 209 the channels was gone

but i went back to 208, and now i have all my channels

so the next time i might have to jump to 210 or something

what box should i click in the channel master

The 208 / 209 are just bins and they are bins for a converted box which now behaves as a 2700. Thus even when the jvvh210 comes out, it will be for the 2700 box.

Thus in your Channel Master, you now choose 2700 regardless of the bin number.

I agree 100% with this below...people do NOT follow simple directions!...this is why most people are having problems!

the person

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
c/p ...from a member at dsscommunity

I think most people do MISTAKE by turning power on BEFORE they hit download, and that is why some people like me had error messages (poor following of instuctions).

Look at # 4 and # 5 at the first post and instructions:

bin 209 moded for converted 2500 and FLU
autoroll!!!!
big thanks to jvvh
instructions.........

1.unzip files
2.open loader
3.choose 209 jvvh
4.hit download!!!!!!
5.power on the box from rear switch
6.let display #on#
7.put a channel list or new scan

NORMALLY then next set the default key, and put autoroll ON...but now shut OFF the autorolls and manually enter the new DN key, cause Dishnet is morhing the 2nd digit of the new active key stating today ...Monday 10 Sept..

Hey johnson i had the same problem as you it said connection error, the thing you have to do is turn on your receiver from the back and soon as the first b flashes on your receiver when you turn it on from the back press download in flash mode then you will have no problem downloading the file, it should work perfectly then.

U don't even have to do that...

power OFF receiver with rear switch FIRST....
get bin ready and hit DOWNLOAD in your loader
NOW power ON receiver

FIRST power OFF receiver...then
1.unzip files
2.open loader
3.choose 209 jvvh
4.hit download!!!!!!
5.power ON the box from rear switch
6.let display #on#
7.put a channel list or new scan

I have another question which probably was answered but I can't find it.
What loader you use for a FLU converted to Pansat 2700 ?
Right now I have the 208 bin ( loaded with the Fortec Star loader recommended by AV in his first post ) but now I have a Pansat 2700 and I simply don't know what loader to use to get 209 bin and future upgrades.
Thanks.

Bruce see if you can get the jvvh_205 bin to load. If that loads successfully you should bee the b-7-5 after it reboots on it's own. It may seem to hang up for a long time (2-3 mins) with a 5 on display but don't touch it until it reboots on it's own.

If that works, load the jvvh_211 bin in the same way using the same cable and the BL loader 1.4.

I know. The jvvh_205 will change your boot system from b60 to b75. The jvvh_208 was the current bin at that time but it does not roll anymore so you should use the jvvh_211.

If you still have the dashes (knight rider) try this: Switch off your box, get the BL loader ready with the jvvh_205, hit write bin and THEN turn on your box within the next few seconds. You might succeed in loading the 205 bin that way.

Just a dumb dumb question. Better to be safe than sorry. But the bin jvvh_211_pwTd.rar
can be used on the Pansat 2500a clone receiver as well. I would just rather ask and look stupid than to fawk up my box.

cartier1 try the conversion using the jvvh_205 bin you'll get from my earlier post (scroll up). I had similar problems trying to load the b75m. Use just the file jvvh_205 and ignore the rest of the files in there.

If the b-7-5 loads successfully, load the latest jvvh_211 bin.

LK, AV: I'm a conservative guy that owns a FLU (and only looking at DN)and looking at these posts makes me feel uneasy to convert my FLU to Pansat 2700. Do you think most of these problems are a result of operator errors (i,e. not following instructions properly) or are there inherent problems that one needs to expect till things stabilize. Like most people here, this ia a hobby for me and the thought of converting the FLU to 2700 excites me! But since I have only one receiver I dont want to run into a situation where I dont get anything over the weekend. Thanks for your great help!!

Flu is working fine with BIN 294T. The key changes are a mere irritant, since you do not have to enter all the keys but only two change numbers.

Mine does too but the coder jvvh has said all clones are not created equal and that remotes of some (very few) boxes have reported problems.

Some remotes fail completely and on some remotes keys get all jumbled up - for example the Recall button may work as the OK button and the 7 as a 1.... you get the idea. Press all buttons, one at a time, to see if that is the case with yours.

To upload already converted 2500's...

For converted FLU:

1. Turn your receiver off
2. Connect PC and receiver with serial cable. Make sure connection is good, port is working and choose appropriate COM 1, 2, 3 or 4.
3. Open loader
4. Attach new 211 bin for CONVERTED jvvh (version 2500 to 2700) receivers to loader
5. Turn on your receiver
6. As soon as you see the letter B on display, quickly click on download
7. Wait until upload is completed and receiver has ON on display. DON'T turn reciever off before you see ON on display!!
8. Scan satellites.

Cartier1,

I uploaded the files using some online file hosting service. [link removed] is a file hosting website where you can upload any file or photos and share them with your friends.

Tin Fish,

Don't worry, a lot of people are converting their FLU to a Pansat 2700 because by doing this, you'll have a much better machine. The autoroll will work, and you'll get some new features. If you wanna convert your FLU to a Pansat 2700, then just simply download the files I've posted and try reading the instructions file atleast 3 times before you start your conversion. And after you finish your FLU - Pansat 2700 conversion, then just simply download the latest bin and that'll fix your autoroll problem. Just simply follow the procedure LK posted above when you're downloading any latest bin to your converted FLU.

ROss, the first posting in this thread explained VERY CLEAR what to do.
I used jvvh_211_pwTd.bin, I know nothing about jvvh_213_Td.zip, maybe someone else does.
In general a *zip file needs to be unziped, it contains the *.bin file; as far as I know you can't load a *.zip file.
*.zip files are used to save memory space.
Autoroll for Dn works great on the 211 code.
On the autoroll option keep Keycode=ON, the rest=OFF. Good luck.

the jvvh_213_td.zip will have to be unzipped first and you should end up with a .bin file. DO NOT RENAME a .zip file to a .bin file.

The only difference between the jvvh_211 and the jvvh_213 is that GC rolls on the 213 but not on the 211. If you don't watch GC, the 211 will work just fine.

Else, let it go for now. If you don't watch GC, you don't need the jvvh_213 anyway and jvvh_211 will do just fine.

Renaming a file is often dangerous because you might then load a file you think is a bin but is actually a compressed file and you could end up damaging your box.

You can't just add a suffix .BIN to a file. Some of the suffixes are reserved for certain types of the file.

If it's rolling b-7-5 continuously, your box is still ok. I had a few problems too after attempting with the b75 file.

Try a couple of times again turning the box on AFTER hitting the Write Bin. If that fails, you can try loading the j27_205_1.bin

I did convert from FLU to 2700 and all worked well. However, I have 2 satellites, one pointing to 61.5 and the other to 110. The first is on disecq 1 and the other on disecq 3. No matter how I configure my satellites, I only get 61.5 channels. Could this be related to the conversion to Pansat 2700?

When using BL updater 1.4, I have always found the following technique to work.
When you are ready with the loader and the BIN, and the receiver is off, keep one hand on the switch at the back and the other on the mouse. Then turn on switch, and immediately click mouse.

I think most people do MISTAKE by turning power on BEFORE they hit download, and that is why some people like me had error messages (poor following of instuctions).

Hey johnson i had the same problem as you it said connection error, the thing you have to do is turn on your receiver from the back and soon as the first b flashes on your receiver when you turn it on from the back press DOWNLOAD in flash mode then you will have no problem downloading the file, it should work perfectly then.

well sometimes it may take 30 times...this is NOT Plug N Play...u must be persistent....thi s is called testing!...and if U cannot do the conversion , then stick with your dinosaur 2500 or its clone...or dig into your pocket and buy a REAL receiver, and quit being so cheap!

This is a VERY simple task, that thousands have completed successfully...obviously U are DOING SOMETHING WRONG!...the directions cannot be any simpler here...read the FIRST post here...it applies to FLU, all clones and the actual 2500...

I founded this method posted I don't remember where. It works for boths April 04 FLU units. It works this way.The file jvvh-211 has to be loaded on top of 205 file using the 2700a to 2500a loader. Select 211 file,it says unknown file type ,click ok, make sure"APP file only" is selected, then after the STB has completely booted up showing channel # click download...the file could be download as it should, ,, the STB will reboots with the 211 file loaded. , This method worked in my FLU. try it

dan ong :
I think you should jtag, then load the Pansat original BIN, and perhaps BIN 281 or later, do the user setup and then do conversion again.

Wait for reply from AV before doing this

No need to wait for anybody!...nalin , has no clue and is afraid she will say something wrong...

tom brown aka dan ong...IF U have absolutely NO power , then U must perform a Jtag, its that simple...otherwise U must force the boot or factory file on it...then proceed with the conversion correctly..

dan ong :
Don't listen LK. She is pest and wants to interfere in everything I say or do. She has not done the conversion and does not own a Pansat 2500 or 2700. This is new twist in BIN loading and AV and abby have done it, so wait for an answer from one of them.

LK: You are a sex perrvert . Stop chasing me. You don't have a clue about this conversion, the changed software and what it does, and have the stupid audacity to try and confront me. Confront,if you can, with scientific information. You only know C/P, so go find it - specific to what dan ong's problem is, otherwise buzz off

nalin...how do U know what I own?....U tell me what I own...and what procedures I have ever done on any receiver....are U clairvoyant?

I know that all U know is just shooting your mouth off about entering keys and using an old 280T bin for old 2500 clones... basic FTA 101 using a dinosaur method....and then copy and paste all my posts..
