Sunday, September 19, 2010 - 18:12 GMT I currently have my LCD TV hooked up to my receiver and speakers for surround sound. I would like to be able to listen to the cable music channels through my stereo system with the television turned off. I must have something not connected correctly. Any suggestions... Thanks.

Sunday, September 19, 2010 - 20:58 GMT Welcome to eCoustics Paul! Use 2 ''Y'' cable splitter then hook it in another input of your receiver! It will worked only if you have a Cable box to select your channels, if not forget it because your TV tuner doesnt work with the power off.

Tuesday, September 21, 2010 - 19:33 GMT No Y splitter needed. Hook up your cable box directly to the reciever to cable/sat in.

Wednesday, September 22, 2010 - 16:29 GMT vince I totally agree with you! 9 years ago it was an option but today it's standard! I personnaly use the optic input with my Yamaha 7.1 to get AC3 sound then HDMI for other source! I I said that because he can have the sound on the TV without using the strereo system!
