It depends by who you mean they, yes direct tv does but noone else does (there is no commercial or public hack for dtv at least yet).

All thoes minds trying to crack the P4 and these guys got a plug and play, unless they decrypted dtv entire security (which has never been done, ever) the cardless box is a pipe dream
