What is the best way to connect IKS to the cable outlet in case you don't have a router/modem or PC in the same room? Can you just buy an external modem and connect it to the cable outlet? Please advice

I hope you realize that if you do not exceed 100 feet distance, normal network cable is the cheapest solution.

You just have to make your mind about drilling holes in your floor or walls.

Such a cable will likely cost you around $12

Going wireless will cost you lots more. Lots more !!!!

And no you cannot add a second cable modem to your existing one.

Anyway, an additional cable modem would cost you more than $12
