I have an old Magnavox tv circa 1984. I used an RF modulator to hook a brand new Magnavox DVD/VCR combo and the AT&T u-verse receiver to the TV (which only has coaxial hookup). When I first hooked it up in December, it worked fine. I did not use it for a month, and went to use it recently, it played the picture fine, but there was static mixed with the sound (DVD/VCR only). The u-verse is working just fine. I tried hooking up a different DVD player to it, and it did the same thing. I bought a brand new RF Modulator and it did the same thing. (Both are Dynex). I'm at wits end. My other TV is only a couple of years old and does not need an RF modulator. I only started using one due to the issues hooking up a solo DVD to a solo VCR. Any help? Any answers? I'd like to be able to go out and watch movies on that tv when the other one is in use by others in the house who are not interested in my movies.
