Setup Instructions
STEP 1: Install the Software
First, download and install the driver for your version of Windows (see above) Note: there are separate drivers for Windows XP and Windows Vista
STEP 2: Plug-in the Hardware
Connect the USB-to-serial adapter to your PC's USB port, and follow the on-screen instructions
STEP 3: Set the Right COM Port
Right click on MY COMPUTER then click PROPERTIES Click HARDWARE, then DEVICE MANAGER Double click PORTS (COM & LPT), and look for PROLIFIC USB-to-SERIAL Comm Port Double click that to open it Then click PORT SETTINGS, then ADVANCED Change the COM PORT NUMBER to COM1 Then click OK If you get a warning message, click YES Then click OK, and close DEVICE MANAGER
Pansat 2500/FLU take DB9 F/F straight RS232 cable, even though converted to 2700 workalike.
Pansat 2700 takes DB9 F/F null modem cable.
If you are not sure what cable you have and it does not work, the best thing to do is to buy a DB9 M/F null adaptor. With the adaptor in, you have one type of cable and with the adaptor out you have the other type. *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- USB to serial convertors are notorious for problems and for slowness. Buy only the type with its own installation CD. Do not allow windows XP to install it. Manually install using CD Select COM1, or COM2, or COM3 or COM 4 port. Use device manager in your computer to check and select the right port.
